For some crazy reason one of my Windows 10 users started getting the error when staring Teams “The code execution cannot proceed because ffmpeg.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem” No, it did not! In this case I tried removing Teams > rebooting Windows > Reinstalling Teams. Not luck, got the same error.

the code execution

After brewing a nice Catimor coffee at home and putting on my thinking beanie I found some solutions.

To fix this “The code execution cannot proceed..” error you need to remove Teams cache files. First, make sure all Teams processes are closed using Task Manager. Then run the below Run command by pressing Windows key + R:

%appdata%

Press enter and navigate to \Roaming\Microsoft\Teams path in your File Explorer.

Delete all files in the above path, but meeting add-in folder.

Next, try to install Teams and it should work. Contact me if you have any questions.
